Ampophone — A vintage telephone reborn as a guitar amplifier
This unique upcycling project turns a classic 1960s landline telephone into a fully functional guitar amp with both character and tone. Ampophone blends nostalgic design with modern functionality, ready to serve as a portable companion for any musician.

– 2-Watt Internal Output: Perfect for home use, jamming, or intimate setups.
– External Speaker Support: Capable of delivering up to 10 watts when connected to a higher output speaker.
– Lo-Fi Microphone: The original mic was preserved to give a raw, vintage tone with character.
– Controls: 1 volume knob, 1 gain knob, and a power on/off switch.
– Audio-Reactive LEDs: Visually responsive LED setup that reacts to the sound.
– Dual Line Out: One high-output line (for cabs), one low-output line (ideal for recording).
– Power Options: Operates with 2 x 9V batteries or a 12V–18V adapter.
– Mic Cut-Off Function: When the handset is placed in its cradle, the mic is automatically muted. A Velcro strap allows you to secure the handset for easy portability.
